Snow

Weather is a nasty thing, sometimes.

You know those days when there is so much snow that the schools close down, everyone panics and buys milk and bread from the grocery store, the gas prices skyrocket, and the kids dream of maing gigantic snow forts as they watch the snow come floating down...

We had one of these days today.
Alabama-style.

Every school in northern Alabama was closed down today (They announced the closing yesterday, in fact), and most of the colleges have no afternoon classes.

These pictures illustrate the depth of snow that this southern town has received.

This is the front yard, with its magnificent snowfall.  (See?  You can see it at the base of the big tree.  You see it?  Little white bits?  Yes?)

Here is the backyard.  Look at the white here!!!  This is what the front yard looked like earlier this morning.

All mockery aside, it is fun to remember this whole end-of-the-world snow-is-falling deal from when we used to live here.

But alas, now we must go and drive to Birmingham.

I hope we make it.  We could end up sideways in a ditch before we know it.

It's snowin', it's snowin'!!
